Daniel Olson was an Ishpeming High School all–state athlete who completed suicide in 2012 after battling anxiety and depression for years. He was 19 years old, the oldest of 4 in a close family and a small, tight-knit community. "Do It For Daniel" is the documentary of his struggle with depression and mental illness that serves as a message of hope, coupled with Suicide & Mental Health Awareness and education. Our number 1 goal is to erase stigma so folks struggling and suffering with these medical illnesses are more likely to reach out and ask for help.

Coach Jeff Olson, Daniel’s father, has brought the Do It For Daniel documentary to 80+ schools in the Midwest & facilitated 150 presentations to communities, hospitals, universities & many other organizations.

the Daniel Olson memorial scholarship
Daniel took great pride in helping people. He wasn't afraid to do something for someone who was in need. To honor their late son, Coach Jeff Olson and his wife, Sally, have set up the Daniel Olson Memorial Scholarship.
